Why do used Valentine One's sell for so much?

Here is an odd question- I have noticed on ebay that valentine one's in good shape sell very close to the price of a new one. I have mine posted and I guy has offered me $385 plus shipping for it right off the bat. I see that others have also sold for about that amount. I don't want to be an idiot and ask him why he wouldn't just pay $15 more for a new one? Anyone have any idea why this is going on?

i think they hold up pretty well, and new ones require accessories + tax.

agreed stupid - buy new

I paid $285 for a used one. Works great.

some people think just because its on ebay its a great deal...

You can only get them from the manufacturer new and because they are upgradable via software flashes, they hold their value well.

Glad you said something. I've got one that's been sitting around that I may now put on the market.

I mean, they are illegal in VA, so I wouldn't want to...

VR doesn't sell in Europe so people buy one who are overseas.

The software can be updated when a new update is out, so every one is like brand new. Plus, it's built well and works flawlessly.

I'd take the $385.

I found a used one on another forum with current version for only $275 shipped.

Right place at the right time...

Used V1 sell for a somthing close to new b/c they are Quality item. They are sold directly from the manufacturer who sets retail pricing and holds it value. V1 is best bang for the buck.

You can send an older V1 (1.7, etc) to Valentine and for whatever price, they'll send you a brand new unit back. Last I checked about a year ago it was an older V1 + ~$100 to get a new one, so this helps them keep their value in the market. You know that an older model is still going to go for just under what Valentine themselves will pay for it for an upgrade.

I will glady pay WAY below retail if you have one for sale!;)

Because they work very well and new ones can only be bought from Valentine
