WTB: Watch Winder or Case

I have a growing watch collection, and a crappy box that's only scratching the pieces.

Anyone have a nice winder box or a nice "case type" box for watches that they would part with?

I think Sharper Image or Brookstone (I forget which one) sells individual watch winders for $99 each....probably cheaper than buying a quality multi-watch winder (why they get so expensive I have no idea)

check eBay -- I got a nice one there pretty cheap (less than $125). Holds 4 watches.

fdb...was it decent quality?

could you give me the model name, number, seller's info, etc.?

Many Thanks!

DiMisa: I did the same thing, ebay. 2 2 arms winders and storage for 6 more, nice glass enclosed case. I think I paid about $125-$130 (supposedly retails for $1100?) Good luck.

I have a couple of winders, the scatola del tempos are the nicest but pricey. I also have 2 underwood winders, they are nice also just not as nice as the scatola, not recomended if you have small wrists. In the end any winder will do the job but like anything else if you want something nicer its gonna cost you.

I looked into winders a couple of years ago, and conversed with a couple of the top dogs in the IWC community...was told a winder isn't necessary to maintain the watch, only to maintain the time setting. So, then I bought a nice leather case that fits a dozen watches in individual lined/padded compartments, with a glass inlaid top so I can see what's where. I use it everyday, keeps the watches neat, protected, does the job and I don't have to fiddle with electronics or batteries in any way. So, you may simplify your shopping if you decide not to get winding capability.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. It is made by Alain Leblanc. Probably not the top manufacturer but it works great. I've had it for two years with no problems. The only real potential problem with these things, assuming basic quality, is noise -- if it's in your bedroom you want it to be quiet. Mine is silent. Like I said, it's been two years and I'm afraid I've tossed the paperwork tat would identify seller and model number.
