FS: Pioneer Elite 50" Plasma HDTV

Ok, Santa was good to me and I got a few new TV's including a 58" which I have wanted for a while. So, one of my favorite TVs is on the sales block. This is a Pioneer Elite 50" PRO-1120HD. I bought this new in late 2005 and it comes with the balance of the 2-year Pioneer warranty. The TV is in great condition. Complete with speakers, stand, media receiver, etc... Since this is the ELITE model everything is finished in black and it has the extra ISF calibration features over the non-ELITE line.

I forget how much I paid, some obscene amount, retail price was $13,500 when it first came out (yes, that is not a typo) and later dropped to $9,000. I will eventually find the receipt and cringe when I see the numbers on it. I am selling for $2,895. Located in the San Jose Bay Area and I would highly prefer a local deal.

Hello:

I live in Livermore, but my brother live in West Los Gatos near highway 17, and he drive a Tundra, I will ask him to come and take a look and will buy at your listed price if the item is in good condition and 1080p resolution. Is it 1080p or 720p. I will call him tomorrow and see if he is willing to help!
Cheers!

Hello Hiroyasu,

The TV is 720p. There are only 2 plasma TV's today that are 1080p and they both came out in the last 6 months. Both retail for $10,000. One is the Pioneer 50" PRO-FHD1 which is a monitor only, no tuners or anything. The other is the Panasonic TH-65PX600U which is 65".

Frankly, 1080p is a waste for a 50" TV if you are watching it at the standard 8' - 10' viewing distance. At 8' - 10' you won't be able to discern any difference between a 720p and a 1080p 50" TV. Just to note, except for the PRO-FHD1, every single Pioneer ELITE has been 720p including the 60"+ models.

Please note that there really isn't such a thing as 1080i display on current generation TV's. All plasma, LCD's, DLP's, etc.. are progressive displays. A 1080i signal has to be converted to 480p, 720p, or 1080p to be displayed. So, a TV is either 480p, 720p, or 1080p (or somewhere in between as in the case of 42" plasmas that are 1024 x 768, although these are referred to as 720p).

Bucky44 01-09-2007 05:22 PM

Sorry I ment 1080P thats what im looking for !!!

I only want a 1080p

Thanks, Dr. Michael, I will get the latest JVC GZ-HD7 high definition camcorder with full 1080 resolution, I am thinking to get rid of my SONY HC3 HDV camcorder as it has only 1440*1080 resolution  . My sister works for Victor of Japan (JVC) and she can get me one in the next 2 weekshilarious , so no use for a 720p screen.

BTW, why you get so many TVs and sold them later at a heavy loss, my dad will spank my butt if he know I want to buy a new HD camcorder. Really jealous of you because Santa giving you several so much:o , :o , no one so generous to me.

Anyone here wants the JVC HD camcorder? I can help because I will get 5 of them, but you have to be comfortable with button in Japanese. hilarious
