Photog Meetup Around DC?
Photog Meetup Around DC?
After going to a few of the local meets, I noticed there are usually a few of us with cameras running about. So, I thought I would see if there would be any interest in a meet to connect some local hobbyists (and if we have any "real" / professionals in our midst), and talk about gear, tech (web hosting sites and Photoshop) and subjects (an autocross shoot at the local track, specific on location shoots with cars -- not that parking lots aren't wonderful settings...). Perhaps on Saturday 2.13 or 2.20?
Obviously open to other ideas, but thought I would get this rolling...

I would love to get together. I've been trying to meet some more people and share some knowledge as well as pick up some tips so this would be a great way to get a lot accomplished. Both dates work for me.
May wanna wait till the weather is a little warmer and the 17 feet of snow has melted. Maybe in March? I'm in either way. I may be going to the Baltimore auto show on the 13th of February though.
Yeah, the weather would have to be much better for me. The 13th could be pushing it but maybe the 20th. Like Tonk said, we may have to wait until March.
Sounds good to me as well.
I'm sure by then even the Honda Fit will trump whatever hill-staffer salaried, hamster driven mess of non-accelerating car I'll be piloting.

Surprisingly an 8 year old 5.1 MP Sony DSC-P100 point and shoot on a tripod.
It's not about your gear, it's about how well you know how to use it I say haha. Only problem is 35mm is a very narrow range. It can't do wide angle, fish eye or true telephoto lens shots. I would get a DSLR (Nikon or Canon), god knows I've held on to this point and shoot long enough. I just don't have the spare cash to get a better camera.
