Recommended oil type/weight for 996 3.4 in NOVA?

Please pass on your Oil recommendations for my 2001 3.4 Carrera 4. I just want to be sure I use something for this area rather than FL.
Thanks

I usually do 10w-40 castrol/quaker state. But I've thrown 10w-30 gas station oil in there before.

I have always used Mobil 1 5w-40 fully synthetic. Works great.

I have always used Mobil 1 so I am sure I will stick to that brand. So 5w-40 works well with the temps around here?

Napa can get the euro formula if that's what you're looking for. The reading I've done over the years show that 0w-40, 5w-40 and 10w-40 all cover the same properties, especially for our temp average for start-ups.

Do you happen to know the specific that the porsche takes (ie; cj-4)? Thanks for the info!

The Mobil 1 site specifies the Euro Formula (NA) for all P, BMW, Jag, etc.

I used to use M1 15-50 during the summer and 0-40 during the other three seasons. Seemed to work OK, but 15-50 is controversial to some.
