Best place to search for commercial real estate rentals?
I've been looking for shop space lately.... trying to find somewhere to do some side work and hopefully parlay that into my own gig down the road. I've gotten tired of working for others, and I'm confident that I can make something a bit out of the box work for me.
I've checked craigslist in Baltimore, and nothing has caught my eye... everything would require me to go all in from the start, and I'd rather feel things out in the beginning with as little monetary and personal risk as possible (I understand there is always some)
What I need is something small, 1 or 2 bays, with 24 hour access, in a decently safe area, where no one is going to really question me if I'm doing paintwork
Any ideas of where to look? Any leads?
I welcome any guidance of course

Your best bet for that type property is going to be Loopnet.
http://www.loopnet.com/
CoStar has the most data, but I am not sure how well those smaller unique properties are covered in their database.

Good luck. Your best bet would be to hire a tenant rep broker, however for a property that small you are going to have a hard time finding a good broker to take you on unless you can find a good local one who is a car enthusiast who does it as a project he/she is interested in as there will not be a lot of money in it for them.
