Enthusiasts unite for a good cause! Sydney Slaughter
Sydney Slaughter (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sydne...33827593328903) is the daughter of two of our good and long time friends, Katrina and Kelley Slaughter. Sydney was born a healthy and normal young girl, but as a young child she contracted a disease called Atypical-HUS and she requires a double (kidney & liver) transplant, as her own no longer properly function for her. She is 6 years old. Kelley is an active duty Naval Officer and has dedicated over 14 years to the service of this country; unfortunately, even the benefit of medical care from the military does not cover the cost of these crucial surgeries for Sydney. In short, there is an additional $60,000 associated with this procedure, again, all of which is not covered by military health care.
Friends of the Slaughters have contributed in the ways they are best able, some have of course donated what funds they could offer to Sydney's online donation hosted by the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) link here: http://cota.donorpages.com/PatientOn...OTAforSydneyS/. You can make a direct impact on Sydney's life and the life of the Slaughter family. They are the strongest family I know and every day find time to be thankful for what they have despite the setbacks they have endured.
