What shows up at Katie's on a nice winter morning? Well, if it's been awhile since we've had good enough weather to go there, a decent number show up. What cars? In a word, German. In a couple of words, German SUVs. Still, there is some variety, and a good amount to see. Our 'early crowd' included Mike, in his BMW wagon (wagen?), Mike in his Cayenne, and Chuck in his Macan, as well as Paul, driving his Prius. (It's OK - he usually drives his '32 Ford Roadster; he's a Car Guy...)
A decent crowd at Katie's, even including a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, and a new 'Outlaw' Porsche replica. Oh, and my Subaru.
The last pic - the youngest photographer there this morning.

A very good turnout at Katie's today, helped in large measure by warmer morning temperatures, and rain earlier in the week that had cleaned up a lot of salt.
What was interesting today?
As usual, several friends met up for breakfast. Here they are, in front of a McLaren.
When is the last time you saw a Ferrari Daytona, in person?
A hot rod, cheek-to-jowl with a Gallardo.
My friend and neighbor, Pete, drove his very nice 550 replica.
Looks like an old Dodge, but it's a 'SpeedyCop' LeMons car, so you know it's not what it seemed... This is the Dodge body, on a Mercedes Diesel chassis.
This interesting rat rod has thousands of 'steampunk' details. Lots and lots of spent brass in clear acrylic on the floor, watch gears glued to the inner door panels, and a Cummins Diesel to power the lot.
The label from a custom exhaust on a Ferrari F430.

Well, we've made it to February, though Punxutawney Phil says we have 6 more weeks of winter. It was 15F when I got to Katie's this morning, but at least there was no wind. A reasonable amount of cars showed up.
We had a Ferrari 308, a McLaren, a Hennessey 850 Mustang, and a brand-new Tesla Model 3, as well as a couple of JDM cars I hadn't seen before.

A late-ish arrival to Katie's this morning. A year from now, this might not make sense to most people. (It took me a few seconds to 'get' what this was supposed to be!)

Turnout was decent this morning, and, at least it wasn't ridiculously cold! The Triumph 'special' smoked enough to keep us mosquito-free thru July!

Not a huge turnout, because it was foggy out - but, it was mid-forties this morning, even really early! A friend just bought a Ferrari 599, and brought it out for the first time... A huge number of Porsches there, as there always seems to be when there's iffy weather... Ed drove his X 1/9. We had another Tesla Model 3 show up, too.

After being at Katie's early last week, but finding it closed because of the power outage, we (and a LOT of other people) decided today was the day for a drive to Katie's.
We also saw our first Dodge Challenger Demon today. 840hp!

A special day at Katies; first, it's St. Patrick's Day, and that really means something at a place called The Old Brogue. Second, the many regulars who missed last week because they were at the Amelia Island Concours in Florida returned, with great stories of cars and car people. Of course, there are ALWAYS great cars at Katie's.
My favorites this week - the beautiful Mercedes Gullwing replica, built on a newer MB chassis, with a modern AMG engine. Bob Morris' unbelievable, fresh-from-restoration Allard. As beautiful a new car as there is: the Aston Martin DB11. Another all-time favorite of mine: the Alfa Montreal.

The weather wasn't bad today - cold, but clear. However, this past week's snow meant we still had lots of salt on the roads, so it limited the attendees a bit. There were an abnormally large number of Aston Martins there, probably in support of the "007" charity event they were promoting. Another Demon was there today. The car, that is.
