I'm new / Porsche Cayenne S Readiness Codes or Drive Cycle question
I recently had basic maintenance completed on my CS (battery replacement, spark plug and valve work finished). Immediately after, I went to emissions where they informed me, that because the work was so recent, the car needed to go through a drive cycle (readiness cycle) before the emissions computer would allow it pass. She's running uber clean and silky smooth therefore all this seems extraneous but as per our fine engineers in Stuttgart it has to be done. I scoured the owner's manual… to no avail. Does anyone out there have experience taking this beast through the readiness cycle… knowledge here would be so uber graciously appreciated !

Factually correct - more than anything this is directly related to the battery replacement. I'm assuming that the battery had died prior?
The drive cycle needed to clear the computer system just requires you to drive the vehicle for a good number of miles. There is no magic number - but I would say it's in the realm of 100 miles or so. When that's done, take it back to emissions and try to have it smogged again. They will be able to tell you if readiness is able to be read or not. Good luck! |
Thank you Jason. Your assumption is correct! To ad, I have not been driving it much either and so your solution also worked it was also close to 100 miles.
Thank you! |
You are very welcome!
