09 997.1.5 from Florida

I was wondering if any of the members in here recognize this car. I've been wondering about the mods. Visually, it has werks cf air box, y-pipe, pendulum, speedtech catless exhaust, and recently found out it has a giac tune. I haven't pulled the bumper to check intercooler or the y-pipe to see if he has a gt3 tb. Also looking to see about whp, since I figured a car with these mods, the previous owner might have dynoed it. I'm looking for a place to dyno in the Sacramento area, but no luck. Thanks in advance... also, thanks to the owners previously who has done all the work I would have done because it saved me a lot of money.

Welcome! We’re you able to smog with the tune and mods? Cali BAR has been saying cars with a modified ECU program will not pass. It would be nice to know they can only tell on newer models.

Hi Chuck. You're right about the ecu mod. I don't believe all the smog stations are checking that yet. That law came into effect last fall, so it's still fairly new. My car was able to pass the obd plug in because all the monitors were ready. Plus it helps to know someone who doesn't check every little detail. Just the air box alone would fail the visual, I believe since it doesn't have a carb number.

Glad you skated…I also suspect the older ecu’s don’t retain that info…some are picky about the visual some are not and the fact you were clear on readiness sure helps. Enjoy, you have a great car!
