Were you allowed to test drive before buying?

Well, i went to a nissan dealership yesterday to test drive the GTR. And they would not let me, giving me lame excuses why. And I will love it, but how can pay for something so expensive without test driving it first?

were you allowed to test drive before buying? or should I just go to a different dealership?

I also went to the dealer today to test drive one. They actually said they don't allow any test drives whatsoever with the GT-R. I'd recommend you to try drive a friends if you know anyone with one.

Find another dealership. That crap may have been reasonable when this was a 'new' car, but not now. If you're some kid in baggy shorts and ratty t-shirt coming in expecting to be taken seriously, then perhaps I can understand their reluctance to let you drive their 'flagship'. But if you look/sound like a serious buyer, then no ifs ands or buts. I wouldn't lay down that amount of cash without driving one first.

It depends in which car you are pulling up to the dealership.

Just like porsche at the end of the day is just a Volkswagen.... and sounds like one too.

Heck no. But that's the dealer's problem, not the buyer. Sacrifice a car to sell a few. I got my M5 drive/unseen. Fortunately it worked out. But I won't do that again. Not being able to see if a car that costs as much as a GT-R 'fits' without a test drive is ridiculous.

i don't see why not?

Sorry guys, have not responded in a while. Reason being, I BOUGHT MY GTR. Will post pics up... and yes I went to another dealership, test drove it, loved it and signed the papers. To bad for the dealership who did not let me test drive.

Hope dealers will finally learn this lesson. Treat your customer like ****e and we'll take our business elsewhere.
Congrats!
