I would like to see the race between a ZR1 at the same power levels and the GTR.

there will be no race, the gtr will be killed :))
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiAD1hJ5qms keep in mind the GTR weighs 600-700lbs more. and then with 50 more hp.... the lingenfelter ZR1 starts to struggle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uORyZI1VdU |
I don't think the guy in the last video is wearing his seatbelt, though at 315kph, I don't think it would really matter if you crashed. hilarious

amazing machinary.....the gtr didnt seem that fast 4 900hp though.....

Tuned GTR P800 vs Tuned Track ZR1 - ZR1 passed at very end
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2Tj3HPBgWE |
the reason why you dont think the GTR is very fast in that vid becuase the zr1 is almost just as fast!!!!
|
I watched all of it. thanks!!!

No disrespect to the GTR driver, who ran in the One Lap of America (but had mechanical issues), and clearly has skills. |

Highly unlikely that is a ZR1. No one is going to destroy a ZR1 by slapping paint, stickers, wing, and a full cage in it to run in NASA time-trials (note the ST-1 class sticker). Talk about destroying the value of a car....almost certainly a Z06 or a regular C6 with what look like ZR1 side scoops on it.

people track far more expensive and higher valued cars everyday... im not sure i see your point? not to mention the dragtimesinfo vid of the LPE Zr1 posted above fits that exact profile, minus a wing of course.
Anyway, not a big deal by any means, just pointing something out that I saw as a mistake. I have no doubt the GTR in this video, with that driver, would easily handle the average ZR1 car/driver combination on any track. The Switzer cars in both vids seem to be very strong indeed. |
I started investigating the power potential of my ZR-1. 700hp is obtainable without increasing boost. A tune & headers is all that's required. A $2,000.00 mod done in an afternoon. How long do you think the GT R's trans & 2 diffs will survive 800hp? They were falling apart stock if you used the launch control (which they now say isn't a launch control) My ZR-1 will easily turn 100,000 miles without major repairs. I installed headers & hi flow cats to beef up the exhaust note. I had the seats re upholstered for comfort & a better (but hidden) sound system installed. I'm leaving it stock otherwise. I'm averaging 17.5 mph in combined driving. A long highway trip yielded 25mpg. It gets better mpg than my CTS-V

I just hilarious at the thought that someone would take a $100k ZR1 to make a no interior track car out of when the Z06 is the track car of the Corvette line. I would bet that the Vette being passed is a C6 Z06.

Epic GTR!

A few $k in the clutches and clutch baskets, etc... and you're set for another few hundred HP. The biggest restrictor once you hit 600whp in the GT-R is the size of the turbos (no transmission upgrades necessary). Of course, now this isn't such a big deal anymore. |
A tune and headers will leave the stock 100k powertrain warranty intact, and thats not bad for a 700 horsepower car!
