I am slamming Porsche, as well. Nissan has this technology craze, the GTR looks and I am sure is amazing (never been in one) but when it came out I didn't really expect it to offer a manual gearbox.
On the other hand, I did expect Porsche to leave the option to choose a Manual gearbox all across the 911 range.
The GT 911s are still available in manual, nothing to whine about I guess.

Yes, the GT-R launches great and that 1/4 mile time is very imprressive for a stock car but from a roll (40mph to 130MPH) the performance falls off when compared my 996TTS.

Therefore, my mod list for this car would be focused on roll performance and not launch performance.

Interesting, could you give some numbers please for 40-130mph?

I do not havve any number. I am just comparing my cars performance to a GT-R from a roll. I have never brought my car to any track (road course or 1/4 strip).

Did you do a roll against a GT-R from 40? Anyway the 2012 GTR with 45hp and 16lb/s more will be faster.

You can see that I have to get into 5th gear to make it to 140MPH. I am shiffting at 125MPH from 4th to 5th. My car has a strange tranny, is stock and unchanged. I know this because I purchased it new.

Conflicting answers???

Also, for someone who claims to want to purchase a GTR, you sure do like to take jabs at it whenever possible.

You drop the trans to pull the clutch, but do not open up the transmission....

R1K GTR does the 0-100kmh sprint in 2.39 seconds... just saying...
