My life with the GT-R aka My expensive test drive

Please tell me I missed something, that was supposedly going to make it special.
(Because I'd hate to hear that someone who works at a dealership had any misinformation they were spreading, again)
Both great cars, but very different. I never owned a GTR but have driven them and in them. Once you drive both it will become instantly clear with is for you based on what you are looking for. Both offer top teir performance but the similarities end there. You will be able to make a decision after a 30 minute drive in either. Just mis up highway and stop and go driving.
Acceleration is awesome in both so focus on everything else.

I think it depends on which units you are comparing....
06-09' Carrera S/4S/Turbo vs 09-11' GT-R - GT-R hands down
10-13' Turbo/Turbo S vs 12-14' GT-R - Turbo hands down
You really can't go wrong with either one.
Good Luck!!
I ended up going with the GT-R and I love it. I will keep this car in my stable until I no longer can drive. Dont get me wrong though I would still love to get the Turbo in my garage as well!!! I'm trying to talk the wife into one hahaha.
Funny this came up. I recently went to drive one for a new daily driver.
Before I give my opinions and view, most know me here and i'd considered myself well respected and seasoned. I'll try to put this lightly
It wasn't for me, point blank. I test drove a 2011 (not the newest fastest or best) but it gave me an accurate feel.
initial reaction inside was just cheapness, wasn't feeling the qualities but to be expected. The seats were TIGHT , i have gt3 buckets in my GT2 and drove daily at some points , to the track, on the track etc etc etc... GTR seats were hurting my sides after 20 minutes on the test drive.
I didn't think it was that fast at all, felt big and bloated. Suspension was bouncy and as mentioned the springs didn't feel matched up to it's dampening
I appreciate how fast they can go in straights and around the track, from the outside.. But driving it just felt so underwhelming to me. I was expecting just so much more :/

There's a lot of hype for the GTR from fanboys, probably 99% of them have never driven one so it doesnt surprise me that it isnt all its cracked up to be.
Ive heard from many people that had them and ditched them for something else that they werent anything special. Extremely expensive parts, a lot of them had issues with broken trannys and of course all the issues mentioned with noise, ride, etc.
Of course they can be extremely fast if built right but its all what you want

I reviewed an early MY on the street and later tracked a Black Edition at MRLS. I found I needed more time to get used to it due to the sightlines and high seating position. Whereas an R8 or Viper I was at or near 9/10ths almost immediately.
Gtr owner...here..after owning for past few months...for 100k..no better option. Commanding power...rockstar attention from everyone...flexibility of around town driving...and let's go to jail speed...after just a few mods to get the sound level I want...I am falling more in love.....

And then there are those who know very little about them. I'd speculate that 99% of the naysayers have never driven one.
Curious why you got the '14 GTR instead of the '10-13 Turbo?
Your F-car is awesome btw.
