Those with police scanners

Are most of the bay area cities here still using analog or have they migrated to digital yet? Also are they on trunked systems? I recently bought a cheap analog uniden handheld and can pick up a few police frequencies (1 chp, mountain view, palo alto, 3-4 for sj, milpitas, and about 3 or more I can't remember right now). I can't seem to pick up anything for SF or Santa Clara and I'm wondering if it's because they're not on analog anymore.

If everything is digital, encrypted, or trunked or whatever..I might just spring for this model instead:
