Hey there....good seeing you as well! Yeah, it was MTK and he doesnt drive with CA license plates. Seemed that he was able to get out of a ticket.

Did he get a ticket? I sure hope they're not cracking down on that. I thought they would just ignore that stuff and assume the car is new and those are temp dealer plates.

 

He talked his way out of it....however not always that easy. My friend tried saying "the car is new" and the cops nailed him because the car was four months old

 

Unfortunately they really are cracking down on the missing front plate thing - used to only really have to be careful when parking as the DPT would be keen on writing it up and officers would write it up if they had you for something else, but over the last year the LEOs have really stepped up pulling you over for that alone whether you have new plates or not

 

This is why I sell so many Ferrari front plate holders!

Giving tickets for no front plates is an easy way for the cities/towns to make $!

I had guest come over and they came late and stayed longer than expected.

 

Cops really seem to be cracking down on this sort of stuff lately. I got stopped in Mtn View a couple months ago for not having plates on my 4 month old RRS (still had my temp reg. in windshield). He let me go, but just wanted to check the car wasn't stolen. I got pulled over last month in my Lotus in SF for tinted windows. Cop said he didn't care if I had a buddy sign off on the tic and send $10 in. I don't get the point of pulling me over to slow me down or for a measley 10 bucks. Seems like a waste of time and taxpayers' dollars. And I did have a buddy sign off on it already.

Anyway, I'm going to try to make it to SR this coming Saturday. It's been a while since I've gone and before I go back to work would be nice to see some sexy automobiles and go for a drive.
