Come on down to Santana Row next Sat. Bring other SLK55's too ;)

If the group feels like a run somewhere, we'll do it.

For upcoming Saturdays ...

So it's being murmured through those that frequent this meet that shoppers/staff of Santana Row tend to be rather aggressive about finding the closest spot to the shops. They show up early, too. Some as early as 9am (shops open at 10am) ... just as the meet is picking up steam.

Frequently, they will park their dailies (read: SUV's and beaters) right smack in the middle of the meet. Outside of ruining pictures, it's not really comforting to see them narrowly miss our cars as these beasts arrive in their berths.

Might I suggest that from this Saturday on, those that are there early park in the far lot as noted in this map. The plus points of this far lot, outside of the obvious (far away from shops) is that it has more shade, and stays empty longer. There are also less derelicts from the night before in this lot for reasons unknown!

What do you guys think? Kurt? Kelvin? Lacir?

I was wondering why the meet was still in the current parking spot after the "incident". The far lot is certainly better for the safety of the cars, and there are some new shots to be taken of the beautiful cars :)

I absolutely agree with all statements. I think we were there the second week of this month, and it still worked out very well, actually I would say that was the best week, as far as the number of cars and quantity of cars parked there for shopping as well.

I think in the end this is better for all parties concerned. The last thing we would want is another incident requiring the attention of Santana Row security that would compromise us from being allowed to meet there again. I absolutely love the meet, IMO I used to go to the CC meet down in Newport and I feel that the people up here are much easier to talk to, (and much more "normal".):p Not to take anything away from the CC meet. There's some incredible cars that show up there, and still a fantastic meet, I'm just really happy there's an equivalent in NorCal.

I think we're pretty much all in agreement on this board about shifting over a lot, but I can't speak for ferrarichat or the lambo forums. Nizam, care to continue doing the honors? ;)

Are you guys meeting up this weekend?

nizam Aug 1, 2006 11:35 PM

Kelvin - I'll post to F-Chat, don't worry.

RobynC, yes we are. Will you be joining us? The Porsche row tends to be rather silvery and grey ;) It needs a little colour!

Yes, I'm considering it. I'd be happy to add a bit of color to the line up.

Nizam, we should absolutly move to the other lot. I had thought that was already decided as there was already one meet at the far lot. I was suprised to see everyone in the first lot last weekend.

Thanks for spreading the word, this will be the best way to make sure we use the far lot from now on.
