"Santana Row" Car Meet Every Saturday 10am in Northern California
Do you get the regular e-mails and monthly electronic newsletters (Advocate)? The Dec. 10th drive has been listed for a little while, and it says in the description that there will be a tech stop at Livermore Porsche at 11am. This was more advertised as a morning drive than a tech event.

I also get email blasts from local PCA people, but for some reason my email client doesn't like the formatting and they come through very messy. But I'm looking at my old email now, and I do see a message from Doug Wiebe with a note about the Livermore tech session. Thanks.
I think I was turned off to the Diablo Chapter when I got a note about a meet at Strizzis. No RSVP required. I showed up on time, but there was no room at the table for me and my wife. It was awkward. I just left. How can they welcome all comers if they don't do RSVPs to reserve an appropriate table?
Also, I can't tell you how many emails I've gotten about events with no date or time listed. Do I sound jaded? I guess I am.

I get the E-BRAKE NEWS which I never read because it's mostly filled with useless info. It's too much work to sift for gold. But if the info is in there, I have nobody to blame but myself.

For me, I've only been to a few events, and I've gotten to know a few folks here and there. Everyone seems friendly and open, but I'm definitely still looking in from the outside. I think it's just about showing up enough times and starting conversations so people start to recognize you.
I agree -- it's hard to break into a new group (especially one where there are some folks who know each other well). They could be more proactive in doing things (sometimes just little things) that help bring newcomers in.

Thanks will do, we'll go for a ride next time. Are you going to be in Livermore for the tech session?
Erik,
I’m going to defend the Diablo PCA Club a little; my wife and I have been going to their events for the last couple of years and we have always got the feelings that we were welcome there. However, you were right about the breakfast and dinner events; the people show up unbelievably early and sometimes there were no rooms for additional people.
If you can PM me your email address, I’m happy to forward you the Dec News Letter; and I’m sure Doug (who handles the email distributions) is more than happy to add you back to the list.

I'm already getting all of Doug's emails, but for some reason none of the pics/graphics ever come through, and the formatting is always really bad on my email client (Thunderbird). Again, no big deal.

But thanks for reaching out. I hope we can catch up at one of the meets soon...
Not sure. I know that some PCA activities are P car only, but I'm guessing the tech session is open to all (but they'll be talking about P cars). Did you get a new non P car?
Didn't see you there -- did you put a Porsche wrap on your Gallardo?
Hope to catch you at a future event.
