Picked up this one a couple of years ago. Then picked up a Glock 19. Used to own a few more but they were sold off over the years. Something about military service and a nice weapons collection. Love the Tommy. |
that tommy gun is cool. what kind of round does it shoot?

So what's the best semi-automatic for beginner?
|
I posted a little in the oregon thread. You really can't go wrong with any of the major brands. Just find something that you like and feels good in your hands.

The range I go to in Everett has a one day rental rate and as long as you purchase the ammo from them, you can try all the rental guns for that one rate... I think it is $20 or something... they have all the sigs, kimbers, glocks etc... If I am not mistaken, you can even apply your rental money towards the purchase etc. If you are looking at all the good brand names, the difference is in how it feels in your hands... All the top companies make a pretty good product. |
+1 to what PJ said. that's exactly what i did. I went to Bullseye in Tacoma and shot a bunch of different guns before I bought my first. If I was going to have just one handgun, i'd probably buy a 9mm because the ammo is much cheaper, its easier to shoot so you'll probably practice more. The reality is the best gun for protection is the one in your hand that you shoot the best!
I also have a lot fun at the range shooting a .22 |
