Have you tried your passenger seat lately? Its quite rewarding!
Here's a feel good story that balances out my last crappy Gallardo incident.
I'm sure most of you are like me and really enjoy your cars on a daily basis, but probably have lost that euphoria you had the first time you drove it and realized you actually own the car of your dreams. I honestly hugged and kissed my car goodnight the first week she was in my garage...sick huh? I don't do that anymore
Anyway, there was a small family gathering this morning and one of my nephews was talking cars with me. He's a good kid, 24 yrs old, married for 2 yrs and has baby on the way. He jokingly says, "hey uncle todd, how about you give me the keys to the Porsche so I can take it for a spin". Without missing a beat, i scoop 'em up out of my pocket and toss them to him. I say, "just be careful, you wreck it, you buy it "
You should have seen the blood drain out of his face as his jaw hit the floor. He says, "are you serious, i was just kidding...you'll actually let me drive YOUR Porsche?" Sure, why not? He says, "come with me because i'm too nervous to go alone"
Of course he kills it a couple times (LWFW), but then we're off. He is grinning ear to ear and starts asking me a million questions about the mods, topspeed, etc. I take him out into the country to let him really open it up. Slow start from 1st, but then he hammers it in 2nd, 1.2 BAR up to 4th gear and my head is firmly planted against the seat. He did a good job jammin' through the gears and he is literally screaming.. OH MY GOD! THIS is F@#CKING AMAZING!!! We blast up to 120mph and start running out road. I tell him to stand on the brakes and we just friggin' STOP!
He turns to me with hair disheveled, wide eyed and laughing. you can just tell this was a life moment for him. It was like re-experiencing Disneyland through your kid's eyes. I know its sappy, but i got that warm feeling in my chest (just like you all got when the Grinch's heart grew 10x its normal size!) He says to me, "i can't tell you how long i've dreamed of doing that"
On a side note, its a completely different experience riding in our cars at WOT in the passenger seat. It was simply a blast.

Thats great, I took my new girl out in my car for the first time and she was just gitty when we stopped, not quite the same but still makes you realize what you have and it is refreshing
I am not sure if I can let myself give her the keys yet

Ive done that a couple of times and let Ravi drive with me in the passenger seat. Trust me its a reality check! But since I have had my car back I have not needed a reality check Everytime I punch it in 2nd I get light headed.

todd watch your speed in oregon. you know the new laws down there? 100mph automatic $12,500 fine and night in jail. i'm sure the new baby wouldn't have noticed the dad being gone. oregon has some new stuff and make it not worth the triple's anymore.........
great idea though i tried to get carly to drive home from Winthrop today and she just didn't feel like it she said

$12,500?
Allow me to tell the story of the lipless Oregon trooper in an undercover Dodge Charger that busted me last year. Oh wait, you already know that story...
But you're right, Todd, it's a totally different experience in the passenger seat. Rare for that to happen to me but I have experienced it. Heck, even in a lowly C2S it feels FAST as proved by the hot lap I rode in at the Barber Motorsport Park last year.
