2008 Sema
Who's going?
Never been to one but Really want to go this year. What do you think is greatest and latest to see there? Winter here is long and I need more ideas on modding cars for next year. :D |
Vincent,
If you get invited and decide to go, look up my best friend (other than my wife of course) Devin Meucci. He owns Probably the coolest '69 Dodge Charger on earth. IMO. Several hundred thousand dollars went into making the car perfect and many of the vendors use it as a showcase for there products. Here's a vid An article on Devin once stated, "He's a financial advisor by trade..., but like a doctor who puffs on stogies, he doesn't always heed his own advice." Laters, Trevor |
Bring me a T-shirt. Large.
Also put $20 on Red 7 on any roulette wheel for me. I'll pay you back if I win... |
todd and i were offered tickets to go with alex from techart, but our work schedules conflict and we won't be able to go. =(
if anyone sees him there tell him hello from us! |
Is Emerald City Customs going?

I've got my passes in hand too. I'll be going along with Ken thanks to TechArt. We probably will hang out with Bruce, Ben, etc. Expect plenty of pictures from me when I get back of course.
|
I would love to go to Sema some day.

I've got my passes in hand too!
This will be my fourth year and it's a blast. The drifting show is just a lot of fun! Jason, we should hook up down there!

I did SEMA something like 5 years in a row working at an airbrush studio. We were sponsored by House of Kolor and we painted a lot of stuff for their display and a few of our clients show cars If your into cars and aftermarket stuff, this is the place. You can't even imagine how big it is. You can't possibly see everything there is to see in 3 days. It's overload with the amount of people there and the amount of stuff to see. It's like going to the biggest Disneyland for cars, trucks and more.
My advice to anyone that hasn't been there before is to map out the stuff you want to see, spend the rest of the time people watching and just hanging out. I personally would save most of my energy for later in the night. There are so many parties put on by the companies that you can cruise from casino, hotel or club and find one. If your fortunate enough to get a VIP pass from one of the companies at SEMA........this is where you want to go. The parties are over the top. One good VIP party and your next day at the show will be a long one. I've attatched a few pic's of some of our stuff we displayed. The first is a JL Audio SUV that had a sub woofer on the hood which was making the water condensation vibrate into some music notes. The second is for a fiberglass company that makes racing shell's. The cool thing about this camaro is that the entire front end is paint. The chrome bumper, the lights and the grill. the front clip is one piece fiberglass. The third car is for a Canadian company that builds exotic interiors and this car was owned by the owner of the Calgary Flames. Sorry for the long rant and my two cents on SEMA. Have fun if your going. Attachment 80911 Attachment 80912 Attachment 80913 |

Hi Jody! Thanks, but I didn't actually didn't do the artwork. I did most all of it besides the artwork. It is kinda cool.
I think I read that you and Todd were going down to Vegas.............? It's insane down there. If you are........have fun. When are we doing a fall drive? I am so ready. |
Stuff to see......
Vince,
SEMA is alot like fashion. It depends on what's in style or the latest trend. For the most part, manufacturers are debuting next year's products for their vendors or dealers. So you will see everything that is available worldwide for cars, trucks, and everything in between. Pretty cool if you know what your looking for. In regard to trends............a few years back, Hummer's were the in thing to mod. I must have seen 25 of them modded bigtime. I heard numerous times that there were actually 125 from people that had they're Hummer in a display. The next year it was the Dodge Charger, then it was the new Mustang and so on. The tuner/drifter theme is huge too. I didn't see alot of exotic euro stuff other than the car's themselves as displays for accessories, like audio, electronics, wheels and tires. I'm sure there is, but at the time I wasn't keeping an eye out for it. Have fun! |
