Is that the one that was supposed to be auctioned a while back, but the chassis # came into question?

After a lot searching I can't find out as to whether or not that is number 19. Somewhere I read that Audi brought the car, which would make it a 1938 Type D and not the 1939 #19 that got so much press a couple years back.

The official entry described it as the 1939 Auto Union D-Type Grand Prix Single Seater owned by Malcolm Barber (Warlingham Surrey, United Kingdom) - it was placed 3rd in its class. Reading the placard, the story was that it raced during the 1939 Grand Prix season and won the Belgrade GP (I believe) on the day World War II was declared.

He actually drove his other car - 1970 Porsche 908/03 Spyder (not this 917) - himself for presentation (18th green) and back down to the show field (18th fairway) wearing his trademark grin. He had to drive past the Winner's Circle because he only got 2nd...another 1972 Porsche 917/10 Can-Am won that class...

It's the Stile Bertone Mantide. Definitely sex on wheels - 2009 Corvette ZR1 on viagra.

A weird question that a friend had asked. Was there a Bugatti EB110 there this year?
