Radar detector/Laser jammer combos? What's everyone runnin?

I've been pricing out radar/laser combos recently and trying to decide what the best option would be for use in the PNW.

I've considered doing a 9500xi/ZR4 combo, a 9500ci, or a 9500xi/Blinder M45 combo.

I guess my main question is why is the 9500ci $650 more than a 9500xi/ZR4 combo would be?

What are some good shops in the area to both purchase and install a radar/laser setup?

Benchmark is the only place to take it, and most people run a 9500ci mounted and also a Valentine One. The Ci is probably more expensive as it has exterior sensors/detectors. It's really the best though.

I was under the impression that the 9500ci is radar detection and laser jamming rolled all into one. Why would a V1 be needed on top of that?

Thanks for the referral to Benchmark. I've sent them an email, and will probably give them a call Monday or Tuesday.

Is that an older Escort model? A quick Google search didn't give me any links where it could be purchased?

I'm using a Valentine One and I love it.

I had decided on the V1 until I read about the 9500ix's GPS capabilities and it's ability to learn and be updated without sending it back.

I'm still iffy on the 2 though. I've never heard a single complaint about a V1 and I have many friends that have them.

On the recommendation of TommyJames and other happy owners I purchased a V1. It has saved me one time so far.

i run both V1 and that 9500ci internal. the V1 is FAR superior at Radar Detection. It gives me the added feeling of security the times I venture 3 or 4 mph over the speedlimit. The lasar jammers have saved me numerous times and V1 can't offer that. I've had 5 or 6 installed by Benchmark

SRX is the predecessor to the 9500 -- detector/jammer without GPS function etc.

I would bet that they do not sell the SRX anymore now that the 9500 is out.

I also have a V1 in my M5... I like it but even in Logic mode it false alarms all the time around town and my SRX does not.

V1 best detector/non jamming device IMHO -- although with laser it is essentially a "ticket notification system" and that is why people are running it in combination with other stuff... and the benchamark install of the Escrot complete system is pretty slick...

CV hates the V1 because it never shuts up...:)

Ticket notification system hilarioushilarioushilarious

Just for reference if you want a 9500 SRX Benchmark has used systems they are selling for a large chunk less. These were systems that were taken out of customers cars that wanted an upgrade.

Remember most of the money in the in car systems are labor so don't be shocked at the price

CV is right. That's why I turn the volume down to where I can just barely hear it. I see the red LEDs anyway.

The unit is quite sensitive & costs nothing to install on the windshield. Works great for me. It's cheap entertainment too!:) The Stazi are everywhere in Washington.

I use the annoyance in a positive way, it reminds me to look at the speedo and slow down. So from that standpoint alone, it's made me a more lawful driver.

Me too. Half of the reason I bought it was to figure out where speed traps are -- even if I'm not speeding. My V1 tends to be chatty in the city. It's great at finding microwaves in 7-11s and Subways! hilarious
