I believe they have, too. Funny the fickle hypocrisy of many critics of the new F-Type.... how many times have we heard the whines of "jag really missed the boat, it doesn't resemble the classic 'E', etc, etc"

... and you know what? Some of these same people who sniff disapprovingly of the new F-Type are some of the same ones who will lavish praise on the modern Ferraris such as the Enzo, F430, 458, etc.... that look absolutely NOTHING like the Ferrari's of the sixties WHATSOEVER. I find that highly inconsistent with their gripes about the new Jag, AND highly telling.

Rubbish. The F-Type is here and it is a worthy new car. IMHO and YMMV.

The looks are simply jaw dropping. I consider it one of the best looking vehicles I have ever seen - and I am not even a convertible guy.

Looks very unique from behind and good inside but front looks japanese like.
I don't agree that it will take away from AM sales, 911 sales for sure. Dentists and chiropractors will have a new car to look forward to haha

I think that this car is one of the most beautiful car for the money ever. Seriously, a boxster s would cost around $80k with options and this Jag comes fully loaded with everything and $90k gets you a 500 hp beast. I too had my jaws dropped when seeing this car..wow..The question is will they make a coupe with 6speed?

I sat in one a month back (dealer event) and it has an impressive fit and finish. Not Aston good (some cheap bits like the plastic chrome seat controls), but much better than a Boxster.

I think the car looks very good, but something is a little contrived about it. It does not feel amazing yet. No doubt over time they will tweak it into near perfection.

For the money it's a killer car.
But why not launch it as a hard top first??? No one beyond the Boxster launches a serious performance car with a soft top. This immediately positions the car as a cruiser or poser car even if not true. The Boxster and California suffered this vs MP4-12c, v12 Vantage, 458, SLS, Aventador, 911 etc. all these cars sell huge numbers of soft tops, but they launched as hard tops for credibility and proof performance came first.

I would love to see what a very hard core, hard top looks like.

Our local Little Rock dealer just got one in the other day, so I stopped by at lunch to take a peek. The one they have on the floor is the 488 bhp supercharged version with as many bells and whistles as you could want. Sticker price is $104K, which places it between a nicely optioned BoxsterS and a 991S cab - a great price point for the market. In my opinion, Jaguar must have "reassigned" their previous design staff, because this new series just hits it out of the park compared to earlier years. While I agree with other comments here that there seems to be a bit more vents and superfluous details than necessary to provide adequate personality to the design (I'm thinking of Aston Martin being a benchmark for when to put the sketch pencil down), it still remains a class act stylistically inside and out, and the front end reminded me of a Maserati grill. While the temptation will be to compare this new cat to a 911, I think it would be better compared to a Maserati cabrio or a MB 550 series as a 2-seater grand tourer, rather than to a 991 as a sports car. I might change my opinion after a test drive, but I don't think so.

Congrats to Jaguar on what appears to be (finally!) a winner for the marque. Beautiful work! I want one!!!

Just came from Jaguar of Chantilly VA and looked at the 6 version in the showroom. It was white with black wheels and a slate grey interior. It was gorgeous. It looks like a great cross between a Maserati MC and an Aston. It was fully loaded for $79 and they have a fully loaded S inbound black/black asking $103. Great car for the money, even the 6.

Wow, thats all i can say about the new Jag. Everything is perfect about that car..i had an opportunity to drive the base model and the V8 yesterday at the Collection. It is so nimble, perfect raw power, drivers focused and gorgeous. If they make one with a 6 speed and a carbon fiber roof, i'm there the next day buying one

Love almost everything Tata has released for Jaguar great cars that's what happens when Jaguar isn't owned by Ford and they invest 2$ over 20 years as oppose to 6 billion in 5 years like Tata has very well done.

I just test drove a white V8 this weekend. It was awesome. Really liked the car. Interior was bad @ss. Great quality. Exterior looks IMO, are very nice too.

It handles and rides very well and the power...well, let me say that it actually felt fast to me, which is amazing considering all my rides have 'ruined' me and everything feels slow.

The exhaust/note is the BEST damn thing about this car!!!! It simply sounds amazing with the bi-modal exhaust opened. Probably one of the most obnoxious factory exhausts...ever! Epic sounds emit from this car.

I want one and will be planning on selling the NastyGT500 to make room for one...

Over and out!
