I have seen this allot in the 240 with SR swap... but Only in the Top Mount Turbo. This is because the exhaust side is right next to a plastic part... nothing a simple heat shield can't fix.

very beautiful car, Jared! i bet it's gonna be amazing when it's done. Datsun just have so much soul! So much, I can't describe it. I guess that's the reason I can't part with mine even after 15 yrs...

When you done with that you should come out to the West coast, my buddy owns Z Car Garage in SJ and all kinds of ppl would love to see your car!

Long live the Z!

Herb:

Thanks man! Hey, you aren't the Herb that built a silver 240Z that got published a few times, are you?

And I really do plan to make a West Coast trip with the car. I'll probably show it in some big events, assuming they let it in.

Take care,

Jared

Jared,

Nah, I wish I own that Silver Z car.. But I think I know the one you talking about, it was in Z Car mag and Sport Compact Car (I think), with TEC-II and TWM throttle bodies right? That thing was so super clean under the hood, it was certainly my inspiration and wish my Z would one day look like that... My buddy shop owns the Go Green 240z w/ RB25 & Go Green 510 w/ SR20DET that have been published here and there. They do some killer restorations too. check their projects out at: http://www.zcarblog.com/

good luck on rest of your build, look forward to seeing it out here. Believe me, they will let you in!

cheers,
Herb

Absolutely beautiful. My uncle used to have one, and the only old school car I'd take over this is a 993.

Sorry that it's been so long. I've sold my 911 now, but it seems that I have something else to take up my attention!

Some parts came back in from being 1700 degree thermal coated silver.
