Wife's New Ride
1 Attachment(s)
My wife wanted a Panamera last year but I hated the way it looked in pictures. After seeing several in person, they started to grow on me. We just traded in a 10 month old SL550 on a new Panamera 6 cylinder, and I can honestly say, it is truly a gorgeous car unlike any other on the road. We ordered this car in August with minimal options-sport chrono, Turbo II rims with painted crests, rear camera, Porsche crests in headrests. My wife liked the way the blue car looked with yellow calipers, so Champion had them powdercoated for us (couldn't justify $8000+ for PCCB). The car is a real head-turner and drives unlike any MB, Audi or BMW we've had. It is much more car than the SL550 and is far cooler than our previous S Classes. No more MB for me, I converted.
The 6 cylinder motor is fine for my wife to run errands or pick up our son from school. In Sport mode, it's pretty quick too. Here's a pic before it was detailed by the dealer before delivery. Yachting Blue with Gray interior. |
Congratulations. Beautiful car. Use it in good health.

Looks good, especially the painted calipers. I would love to have mine painted in red, but haven't looked into the cost to have them professionally done.
You mentioned Painted Crests...did they not make it on the car? I see the standard black/grey ones on those wheels. Something tells me that if the 6 cyl version was around when I bought my P2S, I might have gone for that one as well as it is a relatively quick car...and that would have opened more cash for another 2-dr Pcar... Enjoy! |
You're very observant. When my salesman emailed me this pic, I asked him the same question. He emailed back saying they were on the car now.

Yeah, that's one of my 'deals'...small thing that makes a big impact.
I've been on the fence about the blacked out trim that the V6 models have. I I think it looks good on some colors, plain-jane on others. I think it brings out the sporty look with the Yachting Blue and the TII Wheels...I like it. Is the rear apron also painted? I can't tell from the angle, but that's a great look for the car. Again, congrats...fantastic looking car. Of all the cars I've owned, nothing has turned as many heads as the Panamera. Whether or not people like the look, they can't help but turn their head when they see it... |
No, the rear apron is stock.
It's funny, when cars come with chrome trim, people find the need to black it out. When it's black, the want to spruce it up with some chrome. I think they both look fine and offer a way to tell the difference between models. I found myself liking the silver trim on the front fascia area but couldn't find anyplace selling those trim pieces. Then I realized that it was found on 4 wheel drive models only. If only the exhaust tips were like the S model. |
The Turbo comes standard with the silver vents (behind the front wheel). I replaced my black vents with the silver ones and it makes a big difference on mine. Suncoast sells them, but it's not a do-it-yourself project. You really need to have the dealer do the swap as it requires access through the internal side of the quarterpanel.

Congrats on Panamera purchase. I got my wife a Pan4 and she likes it very much.
However I can't stand the start-stop feature, I have to always drive it in sport mode. |
Looks great, congrats on the new car. Love the wheels!
