High-mileage Panamera???

So I sold my 997 a little over a year ago, and really miss it. Although being a married guy with 3 kids, I didn't get to drive it as much as I would have liked.

I'm thinking about picking up a panamera V6 as a daily driver. I think it would give me the thrill I've been missing, and still allow me to drive my kids to school each morning. The V6 has enough power for my daily needs, and 27 mpg is very nice also.

Here's the big question though.... I drive 25,000 - 30,000 miles per year. With that kind of annual mileage, is the pannie the right car for me?

If I went for it, I'd probably buy a CPO'd one from the dealer. That way I'd get the 100,000 mile warranty.

Any pannie owners put lots of miles on theirs??

Definitely look at CPO as you mentioned for the win. When negotiating, ask dealer to discount the Porsche Maintenance plan. I only have 16K miles. Dealer says PDK needs maintenance after 100K but I am not sure if I believe dealership.

Remember to take the 18way adaptive sport seats and air suspension if you sit a lot in your car. In your situation Id take the diesel or hybrid Panny if it needs to be a Panny. Then again in my country, if Id drive so much as you, the depreciation would be so horrible for a Porsche, Id buy an Audi A6, 3.0tdi, 3.0t or actually the new S6, with virtually the same 4.0t engine as the Bentley GT and which has a 0-60 time equal to the PTT. All of the a ove also outperform the v6 in mileage and acceleration. Audi has a lot of the same technology, buttons etc. (Its a VW family thing) only the Panny has a sportscar feel to it and a unique look. With the milage you drive,Id seriously think about the competition too. Good luck whatever you choose, if you drove less, then it would be another matter.

No diesel pannies for us here in the US... nor in any of the good Audis either.

A6 and A7 are on my list also... but they aren't panameras...

I put about 20k on my PTT in 10 months - so far it has been the perfect choice for me. No issue with all the time I spend in it.

I had mine for 14 month and put 23,000 miles on it, I had no major issue, beside the steering pump went 3 times ( under warranty ), I think eventually this will be a recalled part on the panny's in the near future, the dealer told me, because this happened to several panny's in the past 2 years... I got a nice 2011 Cayenne so I never complained too much .....

the more mileage you drive, the better the Panamera will suit you. My Pan4 is easily the most comfortable car in my lineup. It will be my first choice for any long distance driving.

I actually prefer the PTT over our Audi Q5 in comfort on long journeys and it is also more comfortable seatwise than my e55 amg. However with the Panny your 2+3 family is going to be a problem at some point. You will want to take your wnole family with you, but you cant. It is best suited for a 2+2 family.

3 months 8,000 miles. Virtually perfect. Used 1/2 quart in 6000 miles. Plan on driving 3 years/100,000 miles.

Hey J,
Have not seen you on the forum in some time. I had a Panny V6 as a loaner car for a week. It was very impressive in acceleration for a V6. I drove it to LA a few times and was stuck in traffic, the seats were no good for long periods of seat time. For short spurts around town driving its great, but for long distance its not. I have a E350 Bluetec with massage seats and I get 42mpg hwy. It is not a sporty drive but it can go with its 400lb tq, and the sport pkg gives some decent handling. Its a great DD for the money, $600/mo; month lease and great mpg.

The lack of 3 seats in the back may become very limiting for you and the whole family at some point in the panny.

might suggest you take a look at a well appointed certified, low mileage BMW 550I - 5 seats, lots of power & torques - selling around the mid $50s
