Can't do European delivery on a leased Porsche!??

I was told by a dealer that one cannot do European delivery on leased Panamera or any Porsche. They have to be financed or purchased  That's dumb but is it true>?

I had been working with a salesman at Audi and had a pretty good thread going about leasing a car. When I asked about European delivery, he suddenly stopped responding. I presumed it meant Euro delivery wasn't available for leases and therefore gave up on me. I wonder if that's true across all manufacturers...

Cars delivered in Europe are excluded from most or all manufacturer-to-dealer incentives and kickbacks.

Although I haven't done so personally, I'm rather certain that European Delivery is available on BMW leases.

I myself have done European deliveries for BMWs before and I think I smell a rat on the dealer. for BMWs, there's a forum for European deliveries with good info. I will check with Porsche NA.

You absolutely can do a European delivery for any Porsche. In fact in the US there is a "specialist" at PCNA (Porsche Cars of North America) who handles the European delivery.
Here's the thing. It is really a US or Canadian delivery.
You do your purchase/lease here, pick up the car and do the paperwork on the 2 wk holiday in Europe, then return the car to the factory. It is then delivered to your home dealer for "delivery".
You probably have to pay the "VAT" tax, then it is refunded by the dealer here.
The paperwork is seamless and the dealer should be able to help you, or else you can check with PCNA>

Do you still pay the lease monthly payments for about two months, while the car is underway to the states?

Yup.

Yup.

The lease doesn't actually start until the car is delivered to you via your local dealer. Hence you need to get a bank loan to pay for the car plus the VAT (Euro tax) that is refunded once the car is delivered.

Sounds like a complicated arrangement...

Gets more complicated, as my dealer and PCNA rep said the info in tread #9 is incorrect. They are firm two months for delivery on the waiting and on the boat, the leasing payments sink to bottom of ocean.
