sport exhaust system or aftermarket?
Hey guys!
I have a 2014 V6 Porsche panamera and i just ordered the sport exhaust system for it, i have a question because when I searched the threads in here almost all of you agreed on that the aftermarket exhausts are better than the PSEs, so my question is should I cancel my order and go for an aftermarket one? or should I stay with the PSE? I'm sorry if my writing was like a novel but I just want to explain myself more when I searched the threads in here I came across a thread asking the exact same question as me but his car was a 2012 panamera turbo and all the members told him to get an aftermarket one because the PSE wouldn't change the sound much, is it the same for me? i understand that the turbo model is a V8 and the PSE wouldn't do much but mine is a V6 so is there a big improvement or is it the same like the turbo? I'm very concerned because I paid a lot on the PSE and I don't want to be disappointed when i hear the sound and I'd feel like i blew my money away for nothing many thanks in advance and I'm awfully sorry if I wrote too much :o |
You did good because I read that oem exhaust has these valves that open and close by vacum in order to increase back preasure under acceleration . Also the button in the center console is a plus .
You want be dissapointed and if in the future you need more sound just go with 200 cell downpipes . |
I wouldn't buy PSE exhaust...
I would take your car to a muffler shop and have them do a resonator delete. This is what your exhaust looks like... a resonator delete would make it 2 long straight pipes and add exhaust cutouts before the mufflers. stock http://i61.tinypic.com/wmgorb.jpg like this fabspeed pipe... http://i57.tinypic.com/20hpnw5.jpg cutouts http://www.moparmax.com/tech/2012/vi...gnaFlow_05.jpg |

I don't have many options here due to the lack of knowledge by me and the lack of sources that can help me I really want to know if the PSE is good enough for my v6 |
How much is the PSE exhaust?

about 4k$ :eek::mad:
For $4k I would go with aftermarket exhaust. The PSE is too quiet. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...haust&tbm=shop |

No way, cancel the order... you can buy a used PSE exhaust for $1000 on ebay.

I'm pretty sure PSE exhaust will fit any style panamera, they all look the same.
Here is an ad from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-970-...13912b&vxp=mtr |

I am guessing by your listed location you are in S.A. I'm also guessing there is a car culture there though it may be different than what goes on over here. My advice find a Porsche group (I think your country has its own Porsche Club), and learn more about your car from fellow owners who may also be able to help you find good shops to work with. It is always best to know as much as you can about your car and what you are buying. Good luck.

Honestly with the PSE you dont feel a thing, I got a fabspeed about 3 months ago and loving every second I hear the roar, I got it from Vividracing: http://www.vividracing.com best service/delivery/customer support I have ever seen, they have alot of other exhaust brands, take your pick.

Not much of a guess really, much of my 3rd novel takes place in the middle east, I did my research. I have had fabspeed on a few of my cars (including the 997 in the photo), my Panamera is the car in AWE's videos. Good luck.
