PTT Went to the track last week....

I have a 2011 PTT. I went to the track last Wednesday and my times weren't as good as I thought they would be... My mods are TechArt ECU tune and TechArt exhaust... I have 20" Victor equipment wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I was running about 15 gallons of 100 octane mixed with 91 to maximize power output. My car has 47k miles and is all up to date with service. Track Temp was about 55-60 degrees that evening. I ran 12.33 at 112.98 my first run and 12.44 @ 111.25. Launch control was used both times and the launch felt strong. Why were my times so slow??? I had no extra weight in the car... Is my car not running right, boost leak, need more mods, I'm baffled...

anything coming close to running in the 11's is pretty quick for a 4500# AWD sedan. Not sure why you are disappointed.

I don't think disappointment in my car would be the feeling I have. I did the same mods most people have done and they have had better results. I guess I was just hoping for more out of it... Remember this guy?

I understand variance in track temps, drivers, and mods, however I don't see wheels that weigh pretty much the same weight as stock wheels making a difference. I've seen multiple PTT with just a tune running mid 11... My concern is not that I have a slow car, it is that I want to make sure it is something normal in comparison to others with the same type of setup... If multiple other guys are running in 11's at a higher trap speed maybe I have something I need fixed on the car. My initial thought is a boost leak. I should NOT be running any slower than a stock PTT.

My car ran 11.7 @ 118mph completely stock, higher temps and running 22's. My pressure was set at 42psi which is extremely high, but needed while running so low profile wheels.

My guess is to keep practicing with traction, maybe it was letting a little loose, mid-low twelves is a little slow for these cars.

Go for it and run it a few more times.

Keep us posted.

doesnt' matter what your ET is your trap speed is pretty low. You should be trapping at or around 120mph. Somethings not right.

My thought exactly... Something isn't right with that low of a trap. Even if I didn't get an optimal launch my trap should be much closer to 120+ mph. Not sure how to address this issue... I can't tell Porsche my car is not running and show them the time slips lol (still under warranty and car has a tune). Any ideas? Boost leak, retarding the timing, bad tune?

With mixing 100 gas. Def should be running better. I'd toss it on a dyno see what she does maybe u do have a leak or the tune might not be accounting for the high octane gas and retard timing or something. Keep us updated

Could it be my TechArt tune? Anyone else running this tune? Should I change to a G.I.A.C. Tune or something different?

now that you have baseline #s, why not try reverting to the stock/factory tune and see if you do better/worse? If the latter, that could lead into an interesting discussion with the tuner . ..

So I just dropped my car off to take the TechArt tune out and get the official G.I.A.C. tune put in. I should have it back byThursday or Friday. This will be the true tale tale sign of if it is my tune or not... I have not been able find any Panamera running a TechArt tune, maybe this is why...?

So I just got back from the track. Results are much better than before... Changes are GIAC tune and BMC filter. I am the right lane. The left lane was against my dad and his 2005 E55. Good heads up sedan race!

Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my time and mph. I'm just wondering what I need to do to get over that 120 mph mark? I'm finding it hard to believe people on a bone stock car with just a tune running 124 mph. But all in all I am very happy. My IPD Plenum comes in today...

Did you do anything special at the track other than get up to the line, activate launch control, and burry your foot through the floor board? I launched in Sport Plus, regular height and traction control off. I'm running Michelin Pilot Super Sports so it's a good tire... Track temp was about 60* and I had plenty of time between runs to cool down. I'm not going to be tracking my car anymore unless I get another major upgrade like downpipes. Just wondering if maybe I'm missing something on my launch or if my car is kind of a "slow" runner.
