I will be using this thread to track the progress of my new to new to me Panamera 4S. I fell into the P-car market after a non-attentive driver tragically took my Audi D3 S8 from me. The car did everything it was supposed to do and protected my son and me.

[Insert pics of D3]

I promptly called my friend Tony at [Insert site] who initially sold me the Audi letting him know of the situation and gave him some guidance on what I thought would be a suitable replacement. Tony knowing me knew that I needed to be in something that was on par or exceeded the S8 and had me come in and test drive a Panamera 4. Sure I was underwhelmed with the power coming from the V10 in the Audi, but something about the handling and feel of the Panny had me thinking.

I joined 6speedonline and started researching and reading up on the model and quirks as well as mods. Next thing I know he secures this Panamera 4S in Basalt black with the AWE exhaust and I schedule some time to see and drive it. I pretty much was sold on the car the minute I started it up and promptly started planning to mods on the car.

There were a couple of things that I wanted addressed with the car after purchasing and they included securing a second key (original owner misplaced the first) and replacing the front under panel, since whomever worked on the car before trashed it (still cant’ figure out how they didn’t simply reuse factory clips) Anyways, all the parts were ordered through Mainline Porsche (outside of Philadelphia) and my service manager Josh did an amazing job in getting me in and out in a timely manner,

So here we are now close to two months of ownership and the car has already had some modifications. The front side marker (orange reflectors) have been replaced with bumper plug versions painted to match (Basalt Black). Additionally I purchased a rear mat for the cargo area, and have replaced most of the puddle lights and interior lights with LED bulbs. I still can’t understand why LEDs didn’t come standard.

========================
Interior lights LED upgrade:

Tools needed:
Small skinny flat head screw driver

The doors are fairly straightforward, take your skinny screwdriver and pry from the outside edge of the door and the light should pop out. Untwist the bulb holder for easier access to the bulb. Be careful the incandescent bulb will be hot and likely burn your fingers so be quick. Reverse the process with the LED bulb and you’re good to go. The other interior lights are pretty much the same.

Trunk License plate light 2010-2013

These were fairly easy once you realize how to get the housing to come out. Insert a flat head screwdriver, and slide the whole housing to the right (using the screwdriver), this will push against the spring and allow the left side of the housing to come out.

Bulb swappage was easy…but I stumbled into an issue with mine, clogged drain hole.

Cleaning Rear spoiler drains

When changing the license plate LEDs I realized that the drains from the spoiler area were clogged with leaves & other debris. Now my car has 46K miles and it seems pretty clogged, I would suggest if your car has spent anytime outside you take the opportunity to clean it out when you get one. It would completely suck to have water pooling anywhere because it can’t properly drain.

More to come....

H&R springs have been installed along with 15mm spacers all around and the Panny is sitting and handling as it should have from the factory (pictures to come).

Latest update is the removal, prepping, painting, and reinstallation of the side vents. The black on the Basalt was just not doing it for me...so I made a change. Who knew they actually had an actual function with the headlights venting to them. :)
