Couldn't take the bake dust on the wheels...

I just bought a 2012 Panamera last month. In the short time I have owned it, I realized that the high performance front brake pads had to go. I replaced them today with Warner ThermoQuiet MX1349s. I've been using the ThermoQuiets on all of my cars for years now, including my 500HP 2004 Corvette. The brake job was one of the easiest I've ever done. It took about 30 minutes per side, and 20 of those minutes were to clean the 5 years of unnecessary brake dust from the back side of the wheel. The pads I removed looked brand new (Textars), They must have been installed just before I bought the car. I will probably post them for sale in the classified section. I just thought some of you DIYers would be interested.

Interested in what? You have to make a DIY first to make it interesting. And if you just used 20 minutes to clean 5 years of brake dust, the car can not have been used much. I spent 8 hours on the winter setup on my last car.

8 hours??? Wow. You may want to try a different wheel cleaner. I used Eagle One, PVD and Aluminum Wheel Cleaner.

I have tested many, many wheel cleaners, so i have a good idea whats good or not. But cleaning, machine polishing, waxing and tire gel takes it time if done properly.

Didnt have any before pictures, but they did not look good.

Looks good, but I got the same result with the Eagle One. And, the new pads mentioned in my original message are already providing the lower dust result I was looking for. Bye bye brake dust, hello cleaner wheels!

Hehe. You might THINK you got the same result, but no way you got same result after 20 min. They probably was clean and nice, but thats no problem cleaning them in that time as long as the chemicals are good. But its after the cleaning job the hours starts ticking.
