How to fix a key that doesn't recognize your car?
I'm sure this is an easy fix, and if so, perhaps someone can give a quick fix to a key that no longer works with my car.

Very simple fix. Change the key fob battery. Works like a champ.

I had the same issue and also tried every iteration possible to get my keys to re-sync. The manual is not very helpful, but I finally stumbled on this approach, which worked great for me: Lock the doors from the outside by using the key in the door lock. Unlock the drivers side door using the key in the door lock. Within about 10 seconds or so, open the door and insert the key into the ignition. DON'T START THE CAR!! With the key still in the ignition, push the unlock button on the key. Voila, you should be good to go. strange, but car didn't show 'key battery low' message, battery was 2,9V; with new battery I could open only rear trunk and with that button all doors were unlocking as well, I was not able to turn even ignition on but then one time car just started. I thought that all back to normal, switched off and was not able to start it again. with spare remote was the same. After f****g around for half an hour and trying some stupid things and calling dealer because the car is still under warranty and off course been told to bring the car to them ... After that tried few more times to start the car and suddenly it started up and since then no problems ...... |

Just one advice - even if you change the battery and this procedure doesn't work, pull out that new battery and measure voltage again you might be surprised :) and even if you measure 3,0V replace it. |
I had the same issue and changing the battery solved the problem. |
I agree. Many batteries folks buy sit around for a while and many are either week to begin with, or degrade over time.
I have a stash of 2032 batteries and replace them every 3 months or so, knowing that they are cheap off eBay batteries bought in bulk. |
