Panamera Turbo upgrade thoughts...

Hey guys. I'm pretty new to this forum, but had some ideas about upgrading the Pan Turbo. Does anyone know maximum ft. lbs. that the 7 speed can handle, and also what turbochargers Porsche is using on this car (Borg Warner?).

Thanks much

The turbos are integrated into the exhaust manifolds... that is Job 1.

I guess the only way to know is flash/upgrade until the trans starts to slip. The PDK in the 2010 turbo Champion built started to slip with the wick turned up. There is a thread regarding the vehcle and upgrades.

Here is what can be done right now:

1. Catback exhaust system.

2. Diverter valves.

All the other fun stuff like turbos, more boost, etc. are going to have to wait until one of the software developers cracks the code on the computer. I am sure they are working on this now. Once they do I see no reason why the 4.8 twin turbo wont support 650 bhp. The PDK clutches will be the weakest link but I bet they hold 650 bhp as well.

You can be sure that when Porsche did their development work on this engine platform that they built in all of the power upgrades that they would want to offer for the next several years. All they have to do is change the software.

The stock Pana Turbo hits a peak boost of 12 psi on our awd dyno and then the boost gradually bleeds down to only 6 psi towards redline. I would think that this engine could support 16 psi boost on 93 octane.

Oh, appreciated for such quick response.
So it means that 996TT and Panny Turbo/Turbo S has the same F-hoses ?

yes they are, but when changing diverter valves they might brake, so I wouldn't mind to order silicone ones like for 996TT and replace them together with valves.

.... and what is p/n for OEM diverter valves for 970 Panamera Turbo just can't find them on diagram to check other stuff related ....
