Do these DIY/aftermarket intakes really provide "cold air"? Is the air colder than that provided with the factory intake? Is so, how much colder is it?
Are the DIY/aftermarket intakes and filters less restrictive? How do we know that the air flow is actually less restricted? And, how high do the engine RPMs have to be for less restricted air flow to make any difference? (At 6000 RPM the engine draws 4X as much air than it does at 1500 RPM. )
If the air temperature isn't significantly colder and the flow isn't significantly less restricted, then it comes down to "it looks cooler" and/or "it's easier to maintain", which might be sufficient justification.

On my PPTS one intercooler hose is worn under the clamp... I would really like to replace both sides with aftermarket silicone ones,
or maybe with such pipes, but pipes will need silicone adapters anyway ...
Has anyone done or seen or maybe knows aftermarket replacement for these two hoses: 97011017371 & 97011017373 ?
