Brighter reverse lights?? 2016 Panamera GTS
Hey all,
It's hard to see when I backup at night in my 2016 Panamera. Are there any brighter reverse lights to use instead??

Would like to know this too - I'm sure I've seen something about it on the forum though. It should be just as simple as a bulb swap for a bright white LED I'd think (perhaps even just a 194?)

I tried taking mine apart to replace w/ an LED bulb and it did not appear to be serviceable. License plate bulbs super simple, but I would also like to upgrade my reverse lights. I found a thread where a vendor claimed it could be done easily but that wasn't my experience.

I'd be interested in more light as well, the 2010 factory part # is 999 631 250 91
parts images make it look like a rather unique piece (of course)
as seen here https://www.gaudinporscheparts.com/o...b-99963125091/
seems it was used in a number of models - might be able to find an answer in some of the other groups
found these: https://www.carid.com/2010-porsche-p...bs-403817.html
bit pricey, claims to fit all 970 models

Wanted brighter reverse lights too.
User manual indicated that it would be a simple bulb swap after removing the taillight assembly, and then removing the cover behind the reverse light bulb.
Bought a pair of Canbus error free LED white bulbs and removed taillight.
Like skiracer13, found out that the reverse bulbs could not be removed.
There is a permanent cover where the manual says should be a removable cover.

I have a fairly wide variety of LED bulbs (mostly Ziza brand) left over from many Audi and Porsche interiors that I've retrofitted. The license plate bulbs I installed work great w/ no errors messages - I believe they're all CAN-BUS compatible. The issue I had w/ the reverse lights is that I can't get to the bulb very easily as it is sealed in some type of compartment per the pic above.

weird, just popped mine (2010 4S, produced 11/2009) and I have the backup light access hatch, I wonder why there is so much variation?
found a video about it, they mistakenly take out all 3 torx screws, you only need to remove the middle one. (T-25)

Any chance you can post the video you found? Maybe I'm missing something...

Maybe after the 2010 (or later) model year, Porsche made the reverse light non-serviceable?
Or depends on whether you have a Base, S, GTS or Turbo?
Thought a possibility was that the reverse lights might be unserviceable because they were already LED...…
wishful thinking, they look like they're incandescent.
Can't think of a rationale why Porsche wouldn't allow the reverse lights to be changed out.
