Best obd scanner for panamera
 

Hi Guys, searched the Pan forum and couldn't find a thread discussing best OBD scanner for our Panameras. What would be the best scanner for our cars (PanS) 2010 and up? I'm looking at the Foxwell NT510 which I can also use for my 996 and BMWs. Does anyone have experience with this scanner? Cheers!

there does seem to be a real dearth of information on the various scanners, there are far more out there than I originally thought.
I ended up going with the iSoftCar PORII, mostly because there are other here that used it and the cost is low....

Thanks Dogwood! This is only for Porsche Cars right? Can't use this for BMW's? Can't seem to find iCarSoft POR II on this side of the planet man :-(

yeah, it for Porsches primarily. I do believe they make different versions for each brand.

Durametric is the best and icarsoft probably a second, depends what you need to do.

I just recently got the isoft POR II. Works great and it was affordable.

Thanks for all the inputs. I found iCarSoft POR II but strange that it cost higher (double!) than the Foxwell NT510. My main purpose is to scan codes, clear errors, reset service lights like CEL, oil, brakes etc. and run simple diagnostics for both my '99 911 (996) and Panamera S V8 2010. BTW, I also have BMW's (X5 and E93). Can I use iCarSoft with the bimmers?

I searched ebay as well. Found iCarSoft POR II but description says NOT COMAPTIBLE with my 996 :(

Have you tried Durametric? It's less elegant because it requires a PC, but it will work on the Panamera and the 996 (http://www.durametric.com/). They even have a version of it for BMWs (http://www.bavariantechnic.com/)

I've got it for the Panamera and although the standalone boxes are easier, it works great for many items on the Panamera including maintenance resets, pulling/clearing codes, and troubleshooting.

Ive heard and seen a lot of pros use durametric. Thanks TallPaul, will study this option.

I have durametric enthusiast. Perfect. Easy to use.

So I went with the Foxwell NT510. It was easy to get, cheaper and It seems easy to use and I can use it for my other vehicles by downloading additional software from Foxwell. Once purchased future updates are free for a lifetime. Went with it for the meantime even if my heart was screaming Durametric. Maybe if serious need arises I (I hope not) would still go and get Durametric.

So far, I used the NT510 with my 996 and Pan970. I was able to reset the service indicator for the Pan970 and was able to erase error codes on the 996. It was really easy to use and intuitive. I downloaded BMW software unto it and was able to scan and erase error codes on my 2 bimmers. However, I was not able to see BMW programming on it just like the Carly App which allows you to reprogram the footwell modules, trunk lid, bulbs monitor. Etc. So, long and short of it is....it's ok...for the meantime. Many thanks again for all the inputs. My next project will be to buy a new laptop and go durametric. Cheers!

POR II will not reset oil maintenance on 2019 Panamera 4.
Any tips?

I just sent an email asking Foxwell, nothing right now for 2019. I have a NT510 Elite I added Toyota and Mercedes/Maybach/Smart/Sprinter (sold as 1). (Foxwell notes max 5 brands for this model).
I have a PIWIS 3 clone, probably your best shot...
