This is kind of a general question across all makes of cars, do any of the manufacturers have specific repairs or maintanence parts that they do not allow, restrict useage of or will void if used?

What I'm referring to was several years back there was a memo going around that Audi would not allow the useage of Mobil 1 filters and threatened to void warranties. I'm curious if anything like this is still on going or if any of the manufacturers still pu trestrictions in place like this.

 

They can't. US consumer protection laws forbid this. ONLY way they can deny warranty is if the can PROVE non-OEM part caused failure.
