Late model pickup of some sort, currently 14 Silverado
1996 Impala SS black with a big turbo LSX motor and redone interior

Sports cars: in addition to my '71 Camaro, '76 911, '76 Bug (914 powered), and my 996 to 7GT2 RS project, someday I'd like to build a GT 40 replica. And a convertible for my wife (the bug has a sliding rag top and is actually hers) - maybe a Jag F. + another Porsche or 2.

4x4's: a new Range Rover to complement the 5 I have (long story...) :-p

That should then last a while...

McLaren 675LT (realistically:: 650S)
997 GT2RS (realistically:: 997 GT2)
keep my 996TT to modify and play with.
lease a current turbo for a DD and replace the lease with every new generation.
F150 Raptor for bad weather and my hiking/mountaineering trips.

I'd also like to build an LSx FD RX7, or even design and build a car from my own design. A buddy has built a full tube chassis car from nothing, using parts from whatever car he sees fit and it is a pretty freaking awesome project.

Current: 996 turbo, E550, Cayenne S.

If all bills were paid?

I'd ditch the 996 and go with the 991 turbo, and pick up a McLaren 650S, and probably get another Boxster S as well.

This answer is funny to me, I go through this equation in my head ALL the time . . . Not sure how to optimize for winning a contest, but I see the "problem" in exactly the same way:

Fun: 911 Turbo (996 Turbo)
Efficient: Model S, which is kinda an overkill? How about an i8? (IS250)
Vacation: Suburb (GX460)

I could see maybe doing something in my particular efficiency department, but I feel like I am pretty optimized . . . Of course, I would love to have a bunch more fun cars! KH

This is something I actually considered a couple weeks ago and was realistic about what my wife and I should be able to attain over the course of about 5 years that would hit all of our driving desires.

Me:
My 996 Turbo. A forever car to me.
Audi R8 V10 with manual. I would love an NA v10 and think with a manual this will be a classic.
986 Boxster S. Just enough power to get around but I should be able to do the whole "drive a slow car fast" thing with it.
Some beater truck or SUV.

Wife
Her current E92 M3
Macan Turbo

mk2 GTI - had a ton of them, still love them

E30 M3

Fun thread. With the goal of it being "reasonable"....

1) Keep my 996tt
2) Sell my Acura TL and get a Ford Raptor or Jeep Wrangler
3) Sell wife's RX and get a Macan
4) Get a used Boxster or SL55 AMG for wife's fun car
5) An unmolested Integra Type R or 1G NSX

There's just something about that Raptor or Wrangler that makes me want it!
