^ yeah, my only complaint to my homemade screens is that support piece. it "stands out" a bit once the slats are gone. but the functionality of the mesh is a trade off i'm ok with making.

 

If you hit the ends of the aluminum bumper support that hides behind the solid plastic portion of the OEM grills with flat black spray paint, which takes about 1 minute, it is not really visible unless you look really hard behind the screen for it and then it just blends. Personally, I don't feel it's an issue whatsoever.

I assume that the bumper must be removed to install these. Please confirm.

Yes, for sure. The OEM grills have to be removed. They are clipped on from the inside.

There are you tube videos on how to remove. It's 1/2 hour job and straight forward. Goes back on perfectly and you will never know it was off.

It's a complete kit, powder coated water jet cut mesh, water jet cut custom Delrin tabs, not a DIY hack job. Try making a kit like this and then tell me if you would rather pay $300 and just install it or go through the tedious trial and error to achieve a sufficient fit and develop a secure mounting method.
