997 TT Techart, went with these 20" Forged Red Vossen CG205

After pouring over tons of pictures, I decided to go with these forged Vossen wheels.

Ordered them in red as pictured thinking it will look great for a while, can then paint them black when I am sick of the color.

They are making them with an extreme concave in the rear and something called lightweight pockets. The 20x12" rears will weigh 24-26 lbs.

Went with 20x12 with a 325/25/20 and a 20x8.5 with a 235/30/20.
The black R8 pic sold me, my car is obviously the black 997.

Opinions?

Those wheels look gorgeous and should be a BIG improvement to what you have now as well!

Since when has 24-26lbs been considered light for this car?

I believe stock is 23-27lbs as it is a forged wheel, but yes it is 19" vs 20" and the rears are 1"wider on yours.

Light weigh I would consider when you are going your size would be around 18-22lbs, but either way it is a nice looking wheel!

Might be just me. But never came across an 18-22lb 20" rim

Here are a bunch of weights including what's considered lightweight HRE's.

Same here, a 20x12 @ 24lbs is light !
Don't think you can go much lower if you prefer wheels to last.

Stock 19x11 forged wheel is heavier...

BBS Fi = 18-22LBS 20" 8.75-12"W
HREP101 = AVG 22LB 20" 9.5-12"W
MORR VS70C = AVG 22LB 20" 9.5-12"W
ETC......

MHT/NICHE also had a wheel that I can not remember for the life of me that a 6Speedmember had on that was 19"x9 16.8lbs and 19"x12.5 18.9lbs and the 20" version was around 18-21lbs! They were priced about $6500USD for custom order as well! I have searched many times to find the forsale post (member was selling his car many years ago) and had the wheels on his car.

Either way your wheels should look hot on your 911.

HRE R101 LW's for 997 Widebody are approximately 16.2 lbs // 19.5 lbs front and rear. Those weights come in from a 20"x9" & 20"x12" sized wheels.
