That appears to be an interesting view in your own mind, eg appear to support that the wheel damage can be merely buffed over (obviously not a writeoff and can be reused based on your post) ,yet you seem to have more concern for the suspension component damage as opposed to the wheel damage.

Eek emoji = alarm, horror, surprised.

So, OP being alarmed, horrified and surprised at some wheel damage beyond a buffing repair after engaging in a little fun at bugger all speed (that's really disappointing) spinning, pitching and catching was not lost on me that led to a chuckle.

In terms of being called out for being unfamiliar with sarcasm, each to their own, but perhaps the OP's post was just a feel good post for the OP or some twisted form of therapy or a ruse. Surely a post in the For Sale / Wanted Section based on the last sentence of the OP's post would been more appropriate i.e "Any one has a wheel part nr 99636314203 to help me out? Totally absent of any emotive words such as "misery" would have been perhaps been more appropriate as well. Or did the OP have an ulterior motive, eg akin to a millennial, eg want it now, too lazy to type a few words in ebay and / or search the 6speed Porsche classifieds, wants their end of their world problem fixed straight away with no effort and looking at using the sympathy card and was playing for a wheel to be gifted to them for free as a reward for damage arising from a self confessed hooning session in their post moment of misery instead of stumping up some hard earned cash and spending time finding one, starting with a post in the appropriate forum.

My small hope is that in the new year 2017, I will never again see the "that'll buff out" cliche.

I wouldn't bet on that as it is clearly yet to be worn out everywhere judging from this thread

blah blah blah....
Wow, perhaps sarcasm is different down under, but in the ROW, I thought it was pretty funny. Given the OP was spinning donuts and wrecked his wheel and then posted this here...realy what do you expect?

Some emoticons for you...gooday, mate

this thread is just anecdotal evidence that "newer" 996 turbo owners can be broke a** daft.

the corollary seems to me to be the sadly diminished cost to entry lol. you wont find this thread in the 991 turbo forum

Funny you say that but as cars get older it's most certainly true. The BMW M3 forums was a perfect example of this. Once the e46 go older, the forum suffered, now the e9x is cheap and it's the same thing. Those cars are still very costly to maintain though so it will be interesting to see what pans out. Here we now have a cheaper cost to entry, but these cars are far from cheap to maintain. This will either keep the riff raff out or we we'll see alot more of the "how do you fix this cheap" stuff and maybe some good deals for sale soon that cannot be maintained. Time will tell.
