According to the "996 Bible" 996 Essential Companion, book by Adrian Streather, Porsche only produced 960 '05 Turbo S Cabs. You may have to be patient to find that perfect one to fit your wants. I passed on two '05 S Cabs when I was searching for my Turbo in '09 and '10. Had PPI's done on both, one was from NJ and a DD, badly corroded underneath from salted roads. The other from Las Vegas, 99K miles and not taken of, dents dings really worn interior.
Being patient will be hard. I am a true believer in instant gratification ..... I just don't want one in silver (black would be the best). Am I being too picky .....?
What should I expect to pay ...? I want to drive it - so I don't want to pay top $ for a super low mileage garage queen - but I would prefer to stay below 50,000 miles .....?

So I did find the unicorn after all. 2005 Turbo S cab in black with light interior and <25K miles. Not quite stock (lowered, clutch, sport exhaust and chipped) but quite close.
I guess I am slow on the uptake. I just realized that the car I gave as example on 11/25 (earlier in this thread) as the type of car I want (located in Florida but unfortunately sold) - is exactly the car (same VIN) I ended up buying in Michigan. Seems odd to move a convertible Turbo from FL to MI - the latter doesn't seem to be the prime market for Cabs.
Ok based on the other website I got some addition details on the mods the cars comes with:
Upgraded Tubi Exhaust
GIAC ECU Upgrade
Anybody can give me a sense what this does to the handling and power of the car? The Turbo S comes with the X50 package as a standard - so I know that the starting point is 444 HP.
Nice find. I think that is a decent tune, probably around 500hp. Suspension should handle better at the cost of some ride quality depending on the shocks.
I tried pretty much every website - that listing I specifically found on Auto Trader. However there were a few cars not yet listed on the nationwide sites that I found just by a straight search via google`
