Sunny and hot at Buttonwillow Raceway this weekend. Almost too hot for my poor tires, they took a beating, but still had a blast.

I had some work done on my car. Painted wheels + calipers, new stripe along the car, cupgang logos on wing, smoked out tail lights and replaced my chrome porsche letter emblem on the wing with black sticker instead.

With regards, Jonathan.

2008 911 4s

Hello everyone.
I am very new to the Porsche ownership group.
I recently purchased my 2008 911 997 4s Cabriolet 6 speed. What an awesome car. We recently drove it from Toronto to Naples Florida. I must say it was everything and more that I thought a Porsche should be.
I see why everyone who owns a Porsche, owns a Porsche!
All the cars I see on this thread are all great.
Here's to Porsche

New 1st Time Porsche Owner

It was always my dream to own a Porsche someday. I got hooked after seeing the movie Risky Business and watching Tom Cruise drive that 928 around my neighborhood. "There is no substitute" is still such a classic line. Well, about 30 years after seeing that movie, I am finally a Porsche owner! I happened upon a 2006 911 S4 Cabriolet with only 22,000 miles on it at the right price. It's my everyday driver here in Chicago, so the first thing I did was put on some massive Pirelli Sottozero snow tires. Had a bunch of minor stuff done at the dealership to bring her up to date and replaced the radio/navi with a Kenwood DDX9903S to get Bluetooth, Android Auto, Google Maps, Pandora, rear view backup camera and more. While I was at it, I got 6 new Focal Flax speakers and a JL Audio XD400 amp. Replaced the air filter with one from K & N and we are ready to go! Car drives awesome and the sound system is too cool. I think my first question I'll post in a separate thread is going to be about a cold air intake upgrade. I had the K & N on my Lexus IS350 and liked it. Looks like my only option now is a Fabspeed model. I searched and found a thread, but nothing posted recently. I've read pros and cons...

Thanks for listening!

Free breathing intakes for your car are available from K&N, Evolution Motorsports, Fabspeed, Champion (you'll never fond a used Champion one) and maybe a couple other lesser known brands. There was recently a pretty cool looking one for sale on eBay, but I don't recall the name.

1st off.. Congratulations to all of you 1st time Porsche owners! It is an amazing feeling to achieve a dream and I can say without a doubt that driving you 911 will never get old!!

As far as your k&n intake questions. My understanding is that you just replaced the filter with a K&N and still use your original air box. If you want to know more about the intake kit then read through this forum. I talk about it quite a bit and have had it on my car for over 5 years. let me know if you have any further questions after reading through this.. Enjoy your 911 and drive it like you stole it!!
