No gear change possible

so i brought my v8 used at 28000 miles. had a lot of fun driving for couple months then dash board shows message saying system fault no gear change possible and my car stuck in neutral. would not shift to drive or reverse with push botton or paddle shift. went to the shop i use to use and they said something about wire burn and after replace wire my car ran fine, for a day, then same message shows up.
i am wondering if anyone is kind enough to tell me the fix (i am not mechanic at all though) or point me to a trust worthy "idie pro shop" for aston martin in nyc or jersey city area, i would prefer to avoid dealership as my friend, who also owns a aston says they overcharge a lot.
thank you so much and have a great day.

Do you still have the car? I purchased a car that had the exact same issue with similar mileage in the NYC area about a month ago. It's a gray 2009 Vantage coupe.
