also stand alone like proefi still have 5 position boost settings. Never want to run max boost unless you know you have good high ethanol content e85 in the tank. The sensor will tell you the ethanol content so you know how much boost you can safely run.
I checked my fuel to see how much ethanol is in there a few times at BP gas station and the range was from 68 to 69.2 but yeah you never know but I have filled up over 300 times and no issues so far. BP is well known for there E85 to be close to e70.

Now using e85 all the time you have to run your car a lot and use e85 stabilizer.

well that might be fine if you fill up at the same station ever time. You still should do an ethanol content rest ever time you fill up.

there are guys like me though that drive there cars 300+ miles from home on a regular basis. The flexibility to not have to worry is a big plus.

hell is 100 miles for me to the nearest town with more than 20k people. I drive 200 miles one way just to go to car meets.

Who cares about 1000 hp? Lol. I run 93 and am totally happy with how this car is. I'm potentially moving to Arizona and all they have is 91, and 85 and 100 sporadically around. Many cars I know of have the capability of running an ethanol detecting system. From what I gather, I need a different ecu, and injectors. When does a stock fuel pump Peter out?

You can't run e85 on a stock pump and on pump gas you will run out around 550whp.

I said above your looking at 6 to 8k dollars to run e85.

SRM stage 2 dual pumps

Change all fuel lines to -8an

FPR adjustable or Hobbs switch

Fuel rails

Big injectors

And lots of labor

E85 tune or you need a proefi and if you get one of those your looking at a lot of money because not only is the system expensive but the labor to install it just sucks.

FWIW, my tune won't run high boost without seeing high octane even on the highest setting. I've seen pump gas from 8% to 12% so far. Be aware too guys that water will potentially show as "ethanol" to a GM sensor. Hoping to get some E85 here soon but need to figure out why I'm only boosting gate pressure right now first!

even better!

Amazon Amazon

These failsafes are great. Saved me from killing an engine when my injector seals swelled from running c85.

they also log boost vs afr which is nice.

Really cool I'm looking now at it. Where is everyone putting there gauges in there car? I don't have much room now with a boost controller and led Hobbs switch.

C85?

i run mine down in the center cosole, now that I have a motec display. I use to run it behind the wheel. I'll get some photos.

C85 is VP racings version of e85. Do not run it with protos 1600cc injectors - as it has mtbe that causes the seals to swell. You loose about 30% of the flow.

Yeah let me see pics. I need to figure out where the rest of these gauges are going to go.

So VP e85 is different then gas station E85?

yes vp e85 - called c85 is different and apparently makes a little more power. But only works in stainless injectors like id1300 etc. it ruined my Proto 1600 injectors so be careful.

here is my old setup

I think I saw your thread awhile back about your injectors. Damn and those are not cheap. I will stay away from c85.

Looks great I like the red tach stuff. Where did u get the gauge pod?
