Any ability with these cars to run flex fuel?
Back to OP's question, when someone says FlexFuel, I hear "set and forget" tuning with tables that automatically adjust and compensate for varying ethanol content. In that case, you're gonna need a standalone. Otherwise, you're looking at stock DME flash tuning, in which case you should be reflashing when you switch between tunes to properly address fueling/timing settings.
Last thing you'd want is to accidentally run lean after you switch between a pump gas and E85 setting.

Really wish there were better gauge mount options in these cars. I've got a ProEFI color CAN gauge and I'm going nuts trying to mount it. Got it at the pillar between gauge hood and window but it's ugly as heck especially from the outside! I'd run some additional CAN gauges too if I could. I've got an Alpine NAV in the car and A/C down low. Intercooler differential gauge down low too. May have to resort to a bunch of warning lights! The new AEM gauge is nice!
Agree on what "running E85" means. If I can't adjust to content on the fly it's playing wi fire. Even pump gas varies a decent amount sometimes where I'm at, I've seen greater than 10% more than once!

Most of us have a boost gauge on our electronic boost controller so we don't need a boost gauge.
like I said above, this does not work for Some guys because e85 is not available everywhere. You run out of fuel somewhere with no e85, what do you do?
I keep two 5 gallon jugs in my car and my car is always filled to the top it's right down the street. I see if others don't have a gas station that does suck. VP c85 I'm hearing is not good also for your injectors. I'm debating about a standalone also the cost is really high on my end.
There's ONE station in my area and it's a good 30 minutes away. I might get lucky soon and have one other closer opening soon. A friend is going to bring me a few gallons to play with soon but I need to sort out a boost issue as I'm down about a half BAR for some reason. If you're keeping E85 in full time better make 100% sure all of the system is handling it, rated hose is tough to find particularly for submersion. I do happen to have a race shop a block from me that I used to source methanol from - their price for spec E85 is about 5x what pump E85 costs :-O
So, being able to FLEX between the various fuels is important, especially since E85 is seldom up to snuff. No way in hell would I keep an additional 10 gallons in jugs with me, the disaster in case of an accident isn't worth it. Considering the MPG on the stuff I want to be able to run whatever needed. A standalone is the way to go for this IMO although COBB might yet come up with something...
