Cayenne Gloss Black Exterior Hatch Trim Replacement photos

Hey guys, I wanted to post some photos from my project yesterday. After first using Plastidip to blackout the trim I wasn't really happy with it and found the OEM replacement trim for around 60 bucks delivered. Here are the replacement photos. What do you think?

The Plastidip version Vs. the new gloss black OEM piece.

My dad lending a helping hand with glue removal.

Time for the plastic scraper and some Goo-B-Gone!!

What a pain in the A$$!

An hour and a half later.

Installed and looking sharp!

Oh ya!

Perfecto!

Yes sir. I let it warm up in the sun real good before installing it. It will definitely last a long time.

Hmmmnm.... wish you hadn't posted that. I figured it might look hokey with the stainless bumper protection plate installed. Instead it looks nice - especially with white (and I have the gloss-black trim package..)

Oh well - father's day is coming up right?

Hi Don,

I like how it pops the stainless from the exhaust out just enough to compliment the black. Some tips. Do this in direct sunlight as much as you can with some Goo Gone Remover spray and some good wire that is coated with some protective rubber coating to 'saw' your old trim off. I went half way then peeled off the other half and that particular half removed the glue and all. It saved about 40 minutes of glue removal time. I just bought gloss plasti dip to redo the badges. First you use the black then go over it with the gloss..

Thanks for checking out the photos!!

There are adhesive removers designed for use on vehicles. Turtle Wax T-529 is one I've had good success with.
