I bought a set of 997 headlights that had the lenses for the xenon bulb upgraded from the OEM diffused one to an optically clear one and the guy I bought them from took them apart to do the upgrade, then resealed them. You can probably find the thread here or on Rennlist by doing a search for 997 headlight upgrade.

There's also a thread in the cayenne forum about leaving the light assembled, and carefully introducing alcohol to clean the inside of the front lens, then evacuating it again.

Good luck.

Thanks Pete. Yes I remember that. I was hoping there are others who took the plunge and got good results after. I'm a bit apprehensive since the lights are held against the car using the connection between the front lens and the headlight body. That connection is constantly being pried apart due to the way the headlight are installed in the car.. what adhesive was used? Plain silicone adhesive might not work. I guess just worried on the first time I do it.

I haven't had any issues with the reseal on mine. Still perfectly clean and clear inside.

I was thinking about opening the headlight housing to replace the projector lens with a clear lens and doing some cleaning. Seems like my headlight housing could use some cleaning on the inside

I always thought the Xenon lights were quite good to begin with, so I'll say definitely an improvement, but a modest one - looking at the car with the lights on though, looks like laser beams with the clear lenses vs the diffusing ones.
