996 for track car?

I’ve got a 997TT but don’t want to track it. Does the 996 2 wheel drive 6 speed make a good track car? Where does one shop for a car that’s already been stripped and roll cage added, and few other Basie track upgrades? Is there a better more cost effective option than a 911? Would like to get into some entry level races on the east coast. Thanks

IMO, It is a great HPDE car / DD.
If you are looking to race , I wouldn't be the one for that information.
My car is dependable , fast, good looking, comfortable and safe.
